Free speech is never free When I visited China in 2012, there were already chain grocery stores popping up everywhere. Curiously, next to the checkout lanes out front there were, among other things, vibrators and other adult novelties - of the small and discreet variety. This, in a grocery store - not an adult novelty store. In one of the hotels which I stayed a night, on the counter next to the packaged snacks and beverages placed in the room (which you pay for if consumed), there were packets of lube, complete with a Chinese/English bilingual labeling that included the word “sex”. And yet, pornography (and prostitution) is outlawed and treated the same way as illegal narcotics in China, on account of the government’s disapproval of such expressions of “lewdness”.In America on the other hand, pornography and sexual expression is more or less protected as a form of art and free speech, as long as no minors are involved. But that doesn’t mean it’s intrinsically better. Most porn available in America freely displays violence against the female gender, whether it be outright physically attacking them or, much more commonly, having them appear as unwilling and/or too willing, with little to no discussion or expression whatsoever of consent. Playing submissive or domineering roles is what people pay to see, even though it’s more than possible to create realistic depictions of two people falling in love and having sex. In other words, two people who actually care about each other, and display this very clearly. And this isn’t just in porn. Somehow we want to see people being humiliated, tortured, beaten up, blown up. We want to see power plays. We want to see people being made helpless, defenseless - because our own world has been made too bleak, too stagnant, and we’ve become so desensitized by loud, bright, flashing media and drugs that promise instant gratification. We want things to be instant, but we forget that emotions only exist through time - existence only exists through time. But we want things to be fast. We no longer care about taking the time to have a great orgasm; to be so intimate with someone and love them so much that it hurts - no, we just react to social media posts that have these words in them. It’s time to change. Intimacy, true intimacy, is what will separate us in the end. ... See more
Why? Why is it that most websites focusing on pornography as art always have the most beautiful models, sets, cinematography… and nothing else? No work seems to get done on actual cunnilingus or acting, and for me, that destroys the entire scene. Fingering does not replace a dexterous tongue, and emotionless reciting of dialogue… well… I might as well go stare at some reclining nudes in a museum. ... See more
How are humans better than other animals? Deep down, there is something we all forget as humans. Humans like to think of themselves as better than other animals. But they are not, because this very notion exhibits the hubris that causes humans to kill each other for pleasure, which other animals do not do. And so it is the opposite that can enable us to be a better race. The opposite, where we let our clothes slip to the ground and offer our bodies to each other, because we trust the other will wish for us nothing less than to make us feel happy and satisfied. That we do not focus on the pride in ourselves, but the pride we feel when we have benefited someone else. And it all comes down to that most precious and beautiful of nature’s creations we call ‘vagina’. When ancient civilizations overtook other civilizations, among the first things they did was forcibly take possession of as many of this item as they could find. The sentiment still exists in modern culture. The vagina is the object to own. The vagina is the object which must be hidden… but in that very action illicits exponentially more interest in it than if it were naked. If every vagina around you was naked, would you still hold vagina as the most sacred object in the preservation of a relationship? Wouldn’t her other features suddenly become more important, or even better, the unique variations of her vagina that distinguish it from other vaginas? If we could all share, in small groups at least, our entire bodies, holding nothing back, treating no part as a more meaningful representation of the whole than any other, because we all have something called ‘intelligence’, and we share simply because we know nothing but causing the greatest of pleasure for others in those ways which we can, and sexually, with the help of the large variety of aids readily obtainable in the present day… well sexually anyone can satisfy anyone else. They just have to want to, and if by default this desire, in a community however large or small, is genuine and instinctive, then there is nothing to fear, nothing to own or possess or fight over. And this is what I want to show in all its hopefulness and happiness. Any lovemaking scene should be a microcosm for a world full of generosity, peace, compassion, and passion. Any scene which does not start so, should end so, or demonstrate so from people’s interaction with each other at key moments. A better future for humankind starts with a profound respect for and understanding of the vagina and all that it is connected to, the female body, the female mind, motherly and unconditional … unbreakable … love. Unbreakable, because it is malleable, adaptable to new circumstances, accepting of change. Unconditional love cannot be shattered, and cannot shatter other loves, because it surpasses the possibilities of any change and circumstance, and therefore demands no change from other loves. #sexed ...
