Having had some German images from the nineteen twenties last week, this photo takes us to Austria in the same period. While not as debauched as Berlin, post First World War Vienna was seeing its own erotic female liberation in the nineteen twenties and thirties. Nudes were used in fashion and advertising photography as women asserted their independence. This picture was probably the work of Olga Solarics (1896-1969) whose Studio Manasse produced erotic images of the new singers, dancers and film actresses of the time.
