To get ready for this project and the upcoming commissions that I have I completely changed the way I approached my painting process. Instead of the painterly feel, I did an airbrush style and it really came out nice!
In the last three weeks I’ve made several radical decisions about line weight, how I ink, how I paint color, and my whole overall approach.
This experiment started with a piece that I did initially in 2019. I chose this piece because this was primarily a painting exercise and I needed something that was ready to go. I changed the initial piece a bit to comport with my new inking style and then painted it using an airbrush style instead of my watercolor style.
I’m really happy with how realistic and dynamic and colorful it turned out!
This is the future of my work. Both from a style standpoint and in trying new things to get my work out to a wider audience and supported.
