The average human mind can maintain focus on around 7 different things simultaneously, once you go beyond that the mind will begin to become overloaded.
Already you are focused on one thing, you’re focused on these words i’ve written, you’re reading them and following them, focusing on what they mean, possibly even hearing what they sound like in your head.
That’s one.
1 My words for you.
Second you might focus on your breathing, noticing the pattern of your breaths as you breathe in, and then back out again. That simple pattern of breathing deeply in, and out, focusing on each breath as they relax you more and more.
That’s two.
2 Breathing in, and out
1 My words for you
Third you begin to notice all the sensations on your skin, the air flowing over it from the air currents around you, feeling the slight shifts in temperature and your clothes as they are brushing against you, how your body is sinking down into the surface beneath you.
That’s three.
3 The sensation on your skin
2 Breathing in, and out
1 My words for you
Fourth you feel your heart as it beats in your chest, feeling as it pumps the blood through your body how it makes your chest pulse with each pump, feeling that rhythm as it beats. That familiar calming pattern.
That’s four.
4 The beat of your heart.
3 The sensation on your skin
2 Breathing in, and out
1 My words for you
Fifth of course is the way your chest is moving, how it rises and falls with each breath, how it pulses with each beat of your heart. The way your clothes and the air feel on top of it, all these things happening with your chest cause it to be a center of your focus.
That’s five.
5 Everything centered on your chest.
4 The beat of your heart.
3 The sensation on your skin
2 Breathing in, and out
1 My words for you.
Sixth is the smaller things, how your body has relaxed so completely through focusing on everything else. How with each thing you focus on your mind is becoming so full, so difficult to remember all the rest at the same time, and yet you also cannot seem to let them out of your head. Mind full of everything and nothing at once.
That’s six.
6 Focusing on relaxing.
5 Everything centered on your chest.
4 The beat of your heart.
3 The sensation on your skin
2 Breathing in, and out
1 My words for you.
Seven is special, because at seven we have reached the limit of the average person, and just the slightest push would drop you into a trance so easily, but even now you may think, that you are not the average person, you aren’t at your limits, but then again aren’t you? Some of those last numbers were more than just a single thing to focus on which means we have already gone beyond seven. You have indeed reached the limit and just a simple push. Thats all you need to drop into a trance.
That’s seven.
7 A simple push.
6 Focusing on relaxing.
5 Everything centered on your chest.
4 The beat of your heart.
3 The sensation on your skin.
2 Breathing in, and out.
1 My words for you.
and DROP
falling and sinking into a trance so deep and calm, thoughts fade and vanish from your mind as all those things you had been focused on disappear and you become blank focused only on being entranced by my words. This is where you have reached the end of your mind where there is nothing but emptiness and blank obedience, calmness and tranquility, there is no thought or worry just simple peace through my words. And now as I count back up you will come out of this blissful trance and reblog this post simply saying “I Obey”.
